Tripura Chief Minister Claims CPI(M) is Politically Bankrupt, Predicts BJP Victory in Upcoming Elections

Agartala, May 30: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha asserted on Friday that the CPI(M) has become politically bankrupt and predicted that the BJP will win all ten of its seats in the upcoming assembly elections.

Speaking at the welcome ceremony for the newly appointed state president of the Tripura BJP, Abhishek Debroy, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for the party to strengthen its organizational and booth-level presence to ensure continuous growth in its voter base.

Saha highlighted that discipline is crucial for both organizational strength and political success. He urged party workers to align their efforts with the hopes and aspirations of the public. Empowering party leaders and booth presidents, along with fortifying the organization at the grassroots level, is essential.

He stated that the achievements of the government and welfare schemes must reach every village and individual. The Chief Minister called on the new state president to focus on grassroots work, asserting that this will help maintain the BJP’s government not only in 2028 but also in the future.

Saha declared that there is no alternative to the BJP in Tripura. He noted that the people of the state have witnessed the governments of both Congress and CPI(M), and the true face of the leftist parties has now been revealed.

He accused certain individuals of attempting to undermine the BJP through misleading propaganda on social media and YouTube. However, he asserted that the BJP is not like Congress or the Trinamool Congress, and such efforts will not harm the party.

The Chief Minister remarked that just as the influence of CPI(M) has diminished nationwide, it is crucial to politically defeat them in Tripura as well. He alleged that misleading the public and spreading falsehoods have become part of that party’s politics.

Referring to debates in the assembly, Saha noted that CPI(M) often refers to its tenure as a “golden era,” yet the active drug trafficking networks during that time are a legacy of their rule. He claimed that under the BJP government, many such mafias are now behind bars.

Saha stated that the state government is continuously working for good governance and is also focusing on further strengthening the organization.

Highlighting the achievements of the BJP-led government, he mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is satisfied with the reforms implemented in Tripura. According to him, Tripura is making rapid progress in various sectors and has reached second place in the Northeast in terms of Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) and per capita income.

He added that the NITI Aayog has declared Tripura a “front-runner” state, and it has become the third most literate state in the country. He also noted an increase in MBBS and postgraduate medical seats, along with the establishment of a dental college.
