China Sets Ambitious Goals for Growth of Small and Medium Enterprises by 2030

Beijing, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, along with ten other departments, has unveiled a plan aimed at boosting the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as part of the 15th Five-Year Plan. This initiative outlines goals for 2030 that include both quantitative and qualitative improvements in the overall development of SMEs in China.

The plan envisions the establishment of 22,000 specialized and innovative enterprises. It also aims to create 600 national-level specialized industrial groups for SMEs and expand diverse financing channels for these businesses. SMEs play a critical role in promoting innovation, generating employment, and enhancing the living standards of the population. However, they currently face both strategic opportunities and significant challenges in their growth.

This initiative seeks to fully unlock the innovation capacity, entrepreneurship, and creativity of SMEs while promoting their specialized, refined, and innovative development. The plan also projects that by 2030, the per capita operational income of SMEs exceeding a certain size will increase cumulatively by about 15%. Additionally, it includes seven special projects or initiatives to support these goals.
