Shigatse, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : Following a devastating landslide in the Qilong District of Shigatse, China, the Ministry of Emergency Management has swiftly deployed 796 personnel and 522 sets of equipment from central government enterprises to assist in the rescue efforts.
Under the unified command of a command center on-site, these teams are coordinating search and rescue operations, road clearance, and risk monitoring. The Natural Disaster Engineering Emergency Rescue Center (China Annening) dispatched 310 personnel and 120 sets of equipment for emergency repairs on the damaged sections of National Highway G216, completing the road repairs by 10:00 AM on September 2.
China Railway has mobilized 196 personnel and 131 sets of equipment from five units, including the Beijing Railway Bureau and the Guangzhou Railway Bureau. They transported 300 tons of steel plates and 8,413 cubic meters of stone, while also deploying 138 drones for road clearance and risk monitoring.
Additionally, the China Railway Construction Corporation sent a team of 33 members from the Sichuan team of the 11th Bureau, equipped with 15 sets of loaders, excavators, and generators, to collaborate on emergency rescue operations.
The China Communications Construction Company contributed 126 personnel and 134 sets of rescue equipment from its First Highway Engineering Group and Chongqing Tunnel Rescue Team.
China Power Construction Corporation deployed 95 workers from the Hydropower Foundation Bureau and the Ninth Hydropower Bureau to successfully clear several damaged road sections.
Moreover, the China Energy Engineering Corporation has stationed 20 personnel and 30 sets of emergency equipment for the rescue operations.
The China Yajiang Group sent 16 members from the National Hydropower Project Emergency Rescue Yajiang Team, along with 75 sets of various search and rescue equipment, to assist with the emergency repairs and ongoing rescue efforts.
Tremendous efforts are being made to restore safety and accessibility in the region following this natural disaster.
