Bikaner, September 9 (Daily Kiran) : Bikaner is witnessing a significant electoral event as voting takes place for 79 out of 80 wards in the municipal corporation elections. Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal arrived at his polling station to cast his vote for candidates in Ward Number 6, standing in line alongside local residents.
While waiting to vote, Meghwal highlighted the values enshrined in the Constitution. He stated, “The framers of the Constitution mentioned equality, freedom, and brotherhood. Today, we stand in line together, reflecting that equality and brotherhood. We are all equal, and everyone has the right to vote, including myself.”
Meghwal expressed pride in his connection to the area, saying, “This is my constituency and my neighborhood. I studied in this very school, so it is a matter of pride for me. I am here to vote, participating in this festival of democracy.”
Discussing improvements at his polling center, he underscored the importance of essential facilities. “What does water mean in our lives? What about the earth and the sky? Last time I was here, I noticed these aspects. It looks good now, and facilities have been put in place. An upper shade has also been constructed. Previously, an EVM machine malfunctioned for a long time, but today it is functioning properly.”
Meghwal also acknowledged feedback he received about children sitting outside, noting the improvements made since his last visit.
In a pointed remark directed at the opposition, he stated, “They (the opposition) seem blind to the developments under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. No area has been left untouched by progress. Despite challenging circumstances, our GDP is growing at a rate of 7.8 percent. They know the development has occurred, but they must speak out, as they are in opposition.”
