Congress Disciplinary Action Against Vishvendra Singh Sparks Political Tensions in Rajasthan

Jaipur, October 2 (Daily Kiran) : The political landscape in Rajasthan is heating up as former minister Vishvendra Singh finds himself at odds with the state Congress leadership. On October 2, the Congress Disciplinary Committee issued a notice to Singh, demanding a response within seven days regarding recent statements he made about state party president Govind Singh Dotasra and other leaders.

In response to the notice, Singh stated that the party is free to take action, just as he is free to make decisions about his political future. The notice, issued by Udaylal Anjana, the chair of the Disciplinary Committee, outlines eight allegations against Singh. These include making statements against the state Congress president and two district presidents, failing to support the party during recent urban local body elections, and showing indifference towards organizational activities.

The notice was prompted by complaints from the Bharatpur and Deeg district Congress presidents. After receiving the notice, Singh shared it on social media, questioning whether he should respond to Anjana’s notice or address the remarks made by Dotasra.

Singh remarked, “Dotasra views me as a big brother, yet the behavior I see from your side tells a different story. My workers and I are in a state of confusion. You are free to take action, and I am free regarding my political future.” He emphasized that he has always upheld dignity and discipline, stating, “At this stage of my life, I probably do not need anyone’s advice.”

Previously, Singh hinted at a possible departure from the Congress, suggesting that it is better to leave with self-respect than to endure a situation that compromises his honor. In a recent social media post, he affirmed that his public life is transparent and unblemished, insisting he has never allowed any stain on his dignity.

Singh further explained that his ancestors never compromised in such matters, and he believes it is time for him to part ways, as he can no longer align with Dotasra’s policies and methods. Following this, Singh indicated on social media that he might leave the Congress, although reports by Friday afternoon varied regarding whether the party had received his formal resignation.

Tensions within the Congress party in Rajasthan are palpable as Singh navigates this contentious situation, leaving many to speculate about his next steps in the political arena.
