
Patna, May 27: A severe storm in Bihar has resulted in the tragic deaths of five individuals due to falling walls, heavy rainfall, and uprooted trees. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has announced a compensation of four lakh rupees for the families of the deceased.
Reports indicate that in the last 24 hours, two fatalities occurred in Muzaffarpur, one in West Champaran, one in East Champaran, and one in Munger, all attributed to the storm’s impact. The Chief Minister expressed deep condolences for the victims’ families.
In his statement, CM Chaudhary assured that he stands with the affected families during this difficult time. He has instructed that each family of the deceased receive a compensation of four lakh rupees. He urged the public to exercise caution during adverse weather conditions and to adhere to the guidelines issued by the disaster management department. Residents are advised to stay indoors and remain safe during inclement weather.
According to the meteorological department, light to moderate rainfall has been recorded in most parts of the north-central, northeast, and southeast regions, as well as several areas in the northwest, and a few locations in the central and southwest regions over the past 24 hours.
The Patna meteorological department forecasts a decrease in maximum temperatures by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius across many parts of the state over the next 2-3 days. Additionally, no significant changes in minimum temperatures are expected in the coming five days.
