
Jammu, June 18: In preparation for International Yoga Day 2026, the Border Security Force (BSF) is conducting yoga awareness programs across various regions of Jammu and Kashmir. On June 18, a yoga awareness session was held along the banks of the Chenab River in Akhnoor, where BSF personnel actively participated, promoting messages of healthy living, mental balance, and overall well-being.
On the same day, a yoga awareness and practice program was organized at the Government Higher Secondary School in Kadyala, located in the Hiranagar area of Kathua district. This event, organized by the district administration of Kathua, saw enthusiastic participation from BSF soldiers and local citizens. The program aimed to spread messages of healthy lifestyles, mental balance, and community harmony.
Previously, on June 17, a yoga session was conducted near the Jhula Bridge along the banks of the Manwar Tawi River in Rajouri. This event included participation from BSF personnel and members of the BWDA, emphasizing yoga’s role in enhancing physical health, mental resilience, stress management, and operational readiness.
Additionally, on June 16, a yoga awareness session at Akhnoor Fort in Jammu saw participation from 96 BSF personnel. The program highlighted yoga as an effective means to improve physical strength, mental toughness, stress control, and operational capability.
The BSF stated that the purpose of these programs, held in conjunction with International Yoga Day, is to raise awareness about yoga among soldiers and the general public, promote healthy lifestyles, and strengthen the spirit of community service.
Alongside the yoga events, the BSF also fulfilled its social responsibility by organizing a blood donation camp in Rajouri. On June 18, in collaboration with the Blood Bank of the 150 General Hospital in Rajouri, 35 BSF personnel voluntarily donated blood. According to the BSF, this initiative reflects the force’s commitment to humanitarian service, social responsibility, and community welfare.
