Shimla, June 26: A devastating road accident occurred in the Taklech Chowki area of Rampur sub-division in Shimla district, Himachal Pradesh, on Friday, resulting in the deaths of six individuals.
Reports indicate that a pickup truck lost control near Urman and plunged into a deep gorge, leading to the immediate fatalities of all six passengers on board.
The vehicle was severely damaged due to the height from which it fell, confirming the tragic loss of life at the scene.
Upon receiving news of the accident, police, local administration, and rescue teams rushed to the site. After considerable effort, all bodies were retrieved from the gorge and sent for post-mortem examinations. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the causes of the accident.
According to police, the pickup truck suddenly lost control near Urman and fell into the gorge. The exact cause of the accident remains unclear at this time.
The victims have been identified as Abhishek Sani (23), son of Narsingh Sani, a resident of village Sharnal; Layak Ram (56), son of Magu Ram, from village Path; Ashok Jain (32), son of Dhyan Jain, from village Chhalta; Nitin (23), son of Main Singh Jain, also from Chhalta; Asha Kumari, wife of Satya Prakash, from village Kuwanu; and Yugal, son of Satya Prakash, also from Kuwanu.
Reports suggest that Asha Kumari was en route to her parental home and was recording a video when the accident occurred. The tragic incident has cast a pall of sorrow over the Rampur and Ani areas. Local authorities have assured the families of the deceased that they will provide all possible assistance.
