
Bishkek, September 6 (Daily Kiran) : At the 2026 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit held in Bishkek, Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a significant address on September 1. He emphasized the need for the SCO to boldly fulfill its historical responsibilities while standing at the crossroads of humanity’s future and destiny.
The international community has widely praised President Xi’s presence and his impactful speech, noting that it fostered consensus and coordination in Eurasia to promote high-quality development within the SCO. Many international figures believe that his remarks garnered broad support for advancing a fair, orderly multipolar world and improving global governance.
Kyrgyz political scientist Mars Sariyev highlighted that President Xi provided precise answers to crucial questions about the reasons behind the SCO’s development and prosperity, as well as what the organization should rely on moving forward.
Guzel Maitkinova, director of the Geopolitical Studies Center at the Russian-Tajik Lavrov University, remarked that under China’s leadership, the SCO family is implementing consensus in its mechanisms and projects to ensure that the benefits of cooperation reach the people of all member countries.
Robin Sachdev, founder of the Impression Institute in India, expressed that China’s efforts to transform the SCO’s consensus on security cooperation into institutional achievements will deepen coordination among countries in areas such as counter-terrorism, drug control, international organized crime, and cyber threats.
This summit has underscored the SCO’s role in addressing global challenges through collaborative efforts among its member states.
