Mumbai, July 28: A tragic motorcycle accident in Gumla district, Jharkhand, claimed the lives of two young men on Tuesday. A third individual managed to escape unharmed by jumping off the bike just in time. The incident occurred near the Kharka Bridge in the Sadar police station area, where a speeding motorcycle lost control and fell off the bridge. The deceased have been identified as 25-year-old Mangra Uraon and 24-year-old Charku Uraon, both residents of Barkadih village. The third rider, Suraj Uraon, sustained minor injuries and received treatment at Sadar Hospital.
According to reports, the three young men were riding a single motorcycle towards Barkadih. During their journey, Mangra expressed a desire to eat fish, prompting them to head towards Kharka Bridge to buy some. Upon reaching the bridge, the motorcycle lost control and plunged down. Suraj Uraon, sensing the danger, jumped off the bike, saving his life. Unfortunately, Mangra and Charku fell with the motorcycle and suffered severe injuries.
Local residents rushed all three to Sadar Hospital. Medical staff declared Mangra and Charku dead after examinations, while Suraj received initial treatment for his injuries.
Upon receiving the news, police from Sadar station arrived at the hospital, took possession of the bodies, and sent them for post-mortem examinations. An investigation into the accident’s causes has begun. Preliminary findings suggest that excessive speed and loss of control of the motorcycle were contributing factors. It was also revealed that none of the three young men were wearing helmets at the time of the accident.
According to police, both deceased suffered severe head injuries, which were the primary cause of their deaths.
