
Chaibasa, March 20: In a shocking incident in the Kumaradungi police station area of West Singhbhum district, a young man brutally killed his father with a stick over a trivial dispute. He also attacked his stepmother, leaving her severely injured and requiring urgent medical attention at Chaibasa Sadar Hospital.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on Friday afternoon. A heated argument erupted between Satyawan Pan and his elder son, Prakash Pan, regarding the construction of a government housing project in their yard. The argument escalated, and in a fit of rage, Prakash grabbed a stick and began to strike his father repeatedly. When his stepmother intervened, he turned on her as well, inflicting serious injuries.
Local villagers, alerted by the commotion, rushed the injured woman to a community health center. Unfortunately, Satyawan Pan succumbed to his injuries inside the house before help could arrive. Upon receiving the report, a police team from Kumaradungi station arrived at the scene and transported Satyawan to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead by doctors.
Medical professionals indicated that excessive bleeding from deep wounds to the head led to his death. The police have recovered the stick used in the attack.
