Pakistan Must Curb Terrorism to Receive Water: SP Vaid

New Delhi, March 20: Pakistan has appealed to the UN to restore the Indus Water Treaty, but India has stated that the treaty will remain suspended until Pakistan renounces terrorism. Former Jammu and Kashmir DGP S.P. Vaid justified this decision on Friday, emphasizing the need for regulated water supply.

In an interview, Vaid remarked, “The Indus Water Treaty was unilaterally created during Jawaharlal Nehru’s tenure as Prime Minister. Perhaps his affection for Pakistan led to 70% of the water being allocated to them. The treaty includes a clause for review, but it has not been revisited for nearly 70 years. Therefore, if Pakistan continues its terrorism, India will regulate the water supply. There should be no other perspective on this. They claim they will destroy dams; let them prove it. Pakistan can only receive water if it stops terrorism.”

Regarding the arrest of one American and six Ukrainians linked to a terrorist plot, Vaid stated, “The American and six Ukrainians were in India for tourism. They arrived with visas but lacked permission to travel to the Northeast without authorization. They also did not have clearance to cross the border into Myanmar. Thus, they violated the law, and legal action will be taken.”

He further suggested, “The American deep state may be involved. Previously, Bangladesh’s former Prime Minister revealed that a senior American official met with her to seek help in creating a Christian corridor. This indicates an attempt by the deep state to counter China by encroaching on India’s Northeast, which is unacceptable. India will not allow this. Such activities by the American deep state are against our nation, and everyone knows their collusion with Pakistan’s ISI.”

Vaid supported the statement made by the director of the American intelligence agency, Tulsi Gabbard, who identified Pakistan as a nuclear threat to the U.S. He stated, “She clearly mentioned that the U.S. faces threats from China, North Korea, and Pakistan, all of which possess nuclear weapons. Pakistan is attempting to develop intercontinental missiles. The U.S. faces a greater threat from Pakistan than from Iran.”

On the release of ‘Dhurandhar 2’, Vaid commented, “There is no controversy, as what is portrayed is the truth. Both ‘Dhurandhar 2’ and ‘Dhurandhar 1’ (which I have seen) depict reality. You must have seen how machines for producing counterfeit currency in India were acquired by our own leaders.”
