Mumbai, May 11: A tragic suicide incident occurred at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Kurukshetra, Haryana, on Monday morning. An employee working in the hostel mess took his own life by hanging.
The deceased has been identified as Kaushal, a resident of Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, who was responsible for making bread in the mess.
The incident reportedly took place around 6 AM. Other staff and students discovered his body hanging in a section behind the mess and promptly informed the institute administration and local police. Authorities arrived at the scene and began their investigation, taking possession of the body.
Initial inquiries revealed that Kaushal had been employed at the mess for some time. The reasons behind his suicide remain unclear, and police are questioning nearby residents and staff. The family of the deceased has also been notified.
The series of suicides at NIT Kurukshetra has raised significant concerns. In the past two months, four students have taken their lives, and now, with the death of a mess employee, the atmosphere on campus has become increasingly serious.
