
Hathras, March 3: A tragic road accident occurred on the Yamuna Expressway in the Sadabad area of Hathras district, Uttar Pradesh, early Tuesday morning, resulting in the deaths of six individuals, including three women and three men. Several others sustained injuries in the incident.
According to reports, the victims were traveling in an Eco vehicle, registration number DL 9C BE 9852, en route from Prem Nagar, Delhi, to Dhaulpur, Rajasthan. While on the expressway, a bus with registration number BR 06 PG 7942 collided with their car from behind. The impact was so severe that the Eco van was extensively damaged, leading to the immediate fatalities of three women and three men. Additionally, three young children and three other individuals (two men and one woman) suffered serious injuries.
Emergency services were promptly dispatched to the scene, including the Additional Superintendent of Police of Hathras, the area officer, and the station officer, who initiated rescue operations. The injured were transported to CHC Khandoli and referred to S.N. Medical College in Agra for treatment. Fortunately, the condition of two of the injured children has stabilized.
Among the injured were Manoj Kumar (25), a resident of Bajna, Rajakhera, Dhaulpur, his wife Rani (32), and their four-year-old son Jaydeep. The deceased have been identified as Dinesh Kumar (45) and his wife Sunita (40), also from Gangoli, Rajakhera, Dhaulpur. Their families have been notified, and police are working to identify the remaining victims.
Authorities confirmed that the Eco van driver is safe. The passengers were not all from the same family; they boarded from different locations. Currently, law and order in the area remains stable, and police are proceeding with necessary legal actions.
The accident occurred around 4 AM near the 141-mile milestone close to Hariyagadhi when the double-decker bus collided forcefully with the Eco van. A police officer stated that emergency services arrived promptly after receiving news of the crash. There were 13 people in the Eco van, and tragically, six have died from their injuries.
