
Ayodhya, July 2: A tragic road accident occurred on the Ayodhya-Lucknow National Highway on Thursday morning, resulting in the deaths of three individuals at the scene. Four others sustained serious injuries. The incident took place near Mubarakganj in the Raunahi police jurisdiction when a speeding Scorpio collided with a truck from behind. The impact was so severe that the Scorpio was extensively damaged.
Reports indicate that the Scorpio was traveling towards Lucknow at high speed when it crashed into the truck ahead. Following the collision, chaos ensued, prompting nearby residents to rush to assist. Local citizens alerted the police, and the Raunahi police along with rescue teams quickly arrived at the scene.
With the help of locals, the police extricated the injured from the vehicle and rushed them to the district hospital. Medical staff declared three individuals dead upon arrival, while four others received initial treatment.
Dr. Pankaj Kumar from the district hospital stated that the injured included a child, a woman, and two men, all in critical condition. They were admitted for further treatment and examination. Initially treated at the hospital, the injured were later referred to other facilities at the request of their families.
The deceased were identified as residents of the Maskanwa area in Gonda district, who were visiting Ayodhya for sightseeing.
The police confirmed that the accident occurred between the truck and the Scorpio in the Raunahi area. Following the incident, authorities have taken possession of the bodies for post-mortem examinations and have initiated further investigations.
