Traffic Advisory Issued Ahead of PM Modis Visit to Chandigarh on July 17

Chandigarh, July 15: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Chandigarh on July 17. In anticipation of this visit, the Chandigarh Traffic Police has released a traffic advisory for the public. Citizens are urged to avoid unnecessary travel on designated routes and to utilize alternative paths.

According to the traffic police, traffic may be diverted or restricted from the Chandigarh Barrier through the PEC Light Point to the Sector 2/3/10-11 roundabout due to VVIP movement. The public is advised to refrain from using this route until 3 PM.

Additionally, the police indicated that other major routes in the city may also experience temporary traffic stoppages or diversions as needed during the Prime Minister’s visit.

To ensure smooth traffic flow, citizens are encouraged to adopt alternative routes to avoid congestion and inconvenience. The public is also advised to keep an eye on the official social media accounts of the Chandigarh Traffic Police for real-time updates related to traffic.

Guests, invitees, and government officials attending the event are instructed to park their vehicles only in designated parking areas.

The traffic police have warned the public that legal action will be taken against vehicles parked or driven on bicycle tracks, pedestrian pathways, and no-parking zones, and such vehicles will be towed away.

The Chandigarh Traffic Police has appealed for cooperation from citizens, expressing regret for any inconvenience caused by the restrictions and diversions implemented for safety and traffic management.

It is noteworthy that PM Modi will inaugurate the 110-year-old Jalandhar Cantonment Railway Station, which has been renovated under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. He will also launch another train service between Jalandhar and Varanasi.
