TMCs Alleged Intimidation Leads to Re-Polling at 15 Centers in West Bengal

New Delhi, May 2: Reactions are pouring in from leaders across the country regarding the re-polling at 15 voting centers in West Bengal. Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has made serious allegations against the Trinamool Congress (TMC).

He stated, “Due to TMC’s intimidation, voters were prevented from casting their votes, undermining democracy. This is why the Election Commission decided to conduct re-polling, which we welcome.”

Maurya also mentioned that reports indicate that voting is now taking place peacefully. He asserted that after May 4, Mamata Banerjee‘s government will no longer be in power.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena spokesperson Shaina NC targeted the opposition regarding the re-polling. She remarked, “When a party senses its impending defeat, it starts spreading false narratives. Sometimes they claim tampering with EVMs, other times they blame malfunctioning CCTV, or complain about incorrect polling agents.”

Shaina questioned whether the results on May 4 would be accepted or if further accusations would arise. She expressed confidence in the Election Commission‘s integrity regarding the re-polling at the 15 booths.

Bihar government minister Ram Kripal Yadav also weighed in on the issue. He stated, “The entire process has been under the Election Commission’s supervision, and appropriate actions have been taken. If complaints were received and the Commission deemed it necessary for re-polling, then it is being conducted at these 15 booths.”

During this time, he also commented on the increase in the price of commercial LPG cylinders by ₹993. Yadav noted, “Not only our country but many nations are facing difficulties due to the war. The government is monitoring the situation and ensuring that consumers do not face unnecessary hardships.”
