Murshidabad, June 13: Humayun Kabir, the leader of the Aam Janata Unnayan Party, has addressed the ongoing chaos within the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal. Speaking to reporters on Saturday, he stated that the party is currently in a state of disarray. Many TMC leaders are shifting allegiances, searching for a safe haven. Some are contemplating joining the NDA as a separate organization.
Kabir noted that the votes cast in favor of TMC during the last Lok Sabha elections were largely a rejection of the BJP and NDA. However, he questioned the reasons behind the current predicament facing TMC in West Bengal.
He explained that those TMC members joining the NDA are likely seeking benefits and may be lured by various incentives from the government. He anticipates that more TMC leaders may join the NDA in the coming days.
Additionally, he mentioned the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, recalling that just two years ago, the political landscape was quite different. The situation for the next elections will become clearer in the near future.
Businessman Sanjay Kumar Singhal also criticized MP Abhishek Banerjee, stating that Banerjee made several inappropriate remarks ahead of the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections, which are unbecoming of a member of Parliament. Singhal emphasized the importance of choosing words carefully, especially when in a position of responsibility.
After filing a complaint at the Siliguri police station, he was advised to approach the cyber cell regarding his grievances. He is now considering compiling videos of Banerjee’s statements to file a complaint with the cyber cell.
Singhal recounted the severe violence experienced after the 2021 Assembly elections and expressed concern about the potential for similar unrest this time. He has filed a complaint under the BNS Act and RP Act, urging the inspector to investigate and present findings to the court. He stated that he wants to see if the law truly applies equally to everyone, as he has often heard.
