SP Questions UP Police Encounter of Ankit Murder Accused, BJP Leaders Defend Actions

New Delhi, September 1: Following the encounter of two shooters involved in the Ankit murder case by the Uttar Pradesh police, the victim’s family praised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s approach. However, the Samajwadi Party (SP) raised questions about the encounter. In response, BJP leaders retaliated against the SP’s criticisms. BJP leader Sangeet Som accused SP chief Akhilesh Yadav of being a godfather to criminals.

In an interview, Sangeet Som stated that Akhilesh Yadav has consistently supported criminals in Uttar Pradesh. He claimed that Yadav has previously aligned himself with notorious figures like Mukhtar Ansari, Atiq Ahmed, and Mushtaq, and has returned to the same old ways. Som emphasized that the term PDA stands for ‘Papi, Daku, and Aparaadhi’ (sinner, bandit, and criminal).

He further accused Yadav of disrespecting the Sanatan community, stating that the portrayal of CM Yogi in an AI-generated video has hurt many. Som asserted that this will be addressed in the upcoming elections. Meanwhile, BJP MLA Nand Kishore Gurjar also targeted Akhilesh Yadav, suggesting that astrologers have indicated negative influences affecting Yadav’s decisions. He warned that if Yadav does not take corrective measures, he will continue making such statements.

The message from the Yogi government is clear: strict action will be taken against anyone committing crimes in Uttar Pradesh. There is no place for criminals in the state. Gurjar expressed sorrow over the murder of Ankit Balyan, noting that the incident has saddened both the state and the nation. He criticized opposition leaders for questioning the encounter, pointing out that some have previously lamented the deaths of mafia members and criminals.

BJP leader Rajesh Chaudhary asserted that the state government is operating impartially, emphasizing that criminals do not belong to any particular caste. He accused the Samajwadi Party of historically acting based on caste rather than justice. Chaudhary concluded that the law must operate without discrimination in actions against crime.
