Chinas Industrial Profits Surge by 17.6% in First Seven Months of 2026

Beijing, September 1: According to the National Bureau of Statistics of China, profits from large-scale enterprises (with annual main business revenue of 20 million yuan or more) increased by 17.6% in the first seven months of this year compared to the same period last year.

In July alone, profits from these enterprises rose by 11.2% compared to July of the previous year.

Notably, the electronic sector experienced significant profit growth. In the first seven months of this year, profits from electronic businesses were more than 1.1 times higher than in the same period last year. The integrated circuit sector, which includes computing and memory chips, saw profits surge by 18.5 times compared to the previous year.

Additionally, the leading role of the high-tech manufacturing industry was clearly evident. In the first seven months, the manufacturing sector continued to evolve at medium and high levels within the business and value chains. Profits from high-tech manufacturing enterprises exceeded 50.1% compared to the same period last year.
