Overland Park, August 24: Indian golfer Raihan Thomas and Indian-American golfer Mahant Chiravuri have showcased impressive performances at the AdventHealth Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour. After 54 holes, both players are tied for fifth place in the tournament being held in Kansas.
Their combined score stands at 18-under 198, trailing Japan’s Yuta Sugiura by five shots. Sugiura has taken the lead after matching the course record with an 8-under 64. With one round remaining, Thomas and Chiravuri are in a strong position to challenge for their best performances on this developmental circuit.
Thomas recorded a score of 1-under 69 in the first two rounds, which included five birdies and two bogeys. The Dubai-born Indian player has been among the consistent performers this week and is just five shots behind the leader heading into the final round.
Chiravuri played one of the most spectacular rounds of the tournament. Starting from the 10th tee, the Indian-American golfer made nine birdies to finish with an 8-under 64. Although he bogeyed the last hole, this round matched his career-low score.
This performance places Chiravuri in a position to contend for his first top-10 finish in his 10th Korn Ferry Tour event. His previous best was a tie for 19th at the Pinnacle Bank Championship. Julian Suri also made strides on the leaderboard with a score of 6-under 66, placing him tied for 39th with a total of 15-under 201.
Sugiura solidified his lead with a bogey-free 64, bringing his score to 22-under 194. The 22-year-old Japanese golfer has taken the lead after 54 holes for the first time in his Korn Ferry Tour career and is in pursuit of his first title.
Sugiura began the week with a career-best score of 10-under 62 and aims to become the third Japanese player to win on the Korn Ferry Tour. He secured his 2026 card through the PGA Tour Q-School, successfully navigating the first and second stages and finishing tied for 29th in the final stage.
John Marshall Butler holds second place with a score of 21-under after another bogey-free round, while Korn Ferry Tour winner Jack Fisher is in third place at 19-under with a bogey-free 64. Peter Hruby is also tied for fifth with Thomas and Chiravuri at 18-under.
The final round will be crucial for players looking to secure their spots in the Korn Ferry Tour Finals. Following the AdventHealth Championship, the top 156 players on the points list will qualify for the Simmons Bank Open for the Snedeker Foundation, the first of four final events.
