North Delhi Strikers End DPL 2026 Campaign with Victory Over Outer Delhi Warriors

New Delhi, August 24: The North Delhi Strikers secured a 39-run victory against the Outer Delhi Warriors in the 38th match of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026. This match took place on Sunday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

The North Delhi Strikers finished the season in fifth place, winning 4 out of 10 matches. However, they were already out of the title race, making this their final match of the season. The Outer Delhi Warriors, on the other hand, concluded their league matches in fourth place with 5 wins from 10 games.

Batting first after losing the toss, the North Delhi Strikers scored 166 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. The opening pair of captain Sarthak Ranjan and Yash Dubas managed to add 21 runs for the first wicket. Sarthak returned to the pavilion after scoring 20 runs off 10 balls. Following this, Dubas partnered with Yash Bhatia to add 31 runs for the second wicket in just 10 balls, taking the team past the half-century mark. Dubas was dismissed for 28 runs off 8 balls, which included 3 sixes and 2 fours.

The team lost 3 wickets for just 57 runs. However, Yash Bhatia then formed a crucial partnership with Gaurav Sabharwal, adding 39 runs for the fourth wicket, and later partnered with Kaushal Suman to add 49 runs for the fifth wicket, propelling the team to a competitive score.

Yash Bhatia scored 53 runs off 38 balls, featuring 3 sixes and 3 fours, while Kaushal contributed 33 runs off 26 balls. For the Outer Delhi Warriors, Harsh Tyagi was the standout bowler, claiming 3 wickets for just 15 runs. Sidhanth Sharma, Navdeep Saini, Anant Sareen, and Samar Kohar each took 1 wicket.

In response, the Outer Delhi Warriors managed only 127 runs, losing 7 wickets in their allotted overs. Priyansh Arya and Yajus Sharma opened the innings with a partnership of 25 runs. Priyansh scored 15 runs before being dismissed, while Yajus contributed 14 runs.

The team struggled, losing 6 wickets for just 66 runs. Harsh Tyagi then formed partnerships with Shivam Sharma and Sidhanth Sharma, adding 25 and 36 runs for the seventh and eighth wickets, respectively. However, they could not secure a victory. Harsh remained unbeaten with 54 runs off 33 balls, hitting 5 sixes and 1 four. For the North Delhi Strikers, Parikshit Sahrawat took the most wickets, claiming 3, while Praneet Tiwari took 2 wickets.
