
Beijing, August 24: The Chinese delegation for the 48th World Skills Competition has been formally established following approval from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
As of August 23, the delegation comprises a total of 220 members, including 71 competitors. These participants will compete in all 64 events, representing 21 provinces across China. Among them, there are 49 students and 22 professionals, with an average age of 21 years. The youngest competitor is 18, while the oldest is 25.
Since joining the World Skills Organization in 2010, China has participated in seven World Skills Competitions. During this period, the country has secured a total of 93 gold medals, 41 silver medals, 28 bronze medals, and 71 consolation prizes. Additionally, China has consistently ranked first in both the medal tally and team points table for four consecutive times.
This year’s 48th World Skills Competition will take place from September 22 to 27 in Shanghai, China. Approximately 1,400 competitors from around 70 countries and regions are expected to participate. This will mark China’s eighth participation in the event and the third time it will compete in all categories.
A representative from the Chinese delegation stated that the entire team will strictly adhere to the competition rules and compete in a fair and civilized manner. They aim to showcase their skills and performance levels effectively, highlighting the exceptional capabilities and positive image of skilled Chinese youth in the new era.
