New Delhi, August 24: The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has expressed strong outrage following the reported murder of a retired Hindu teacher and several family members in Bangladesh. VHP national spokesperson Vinod Bansal condemned the incident, calling it extremely alarming and demanding strict action from the Bangladeshi government against the perpetrators.
Bansal stated, “The brutal killings of four to five Hindus inside their home, particularly of a recently retired teacher’s family, is deeply concerning. When will the killings of Hindus in Bangladesh cease? There was hope for change when a new government was formed in Bangladesh. A young Prime Minister was expected to ensure the safety of citizens, but this tragic news is both distressing and condemnable, serving as an eye-opener for the government.”
He further emphasized, “The current government must ensure the harshest actions in this case. A thorough investigation should be conducted, and justice must be served to the criminals. This is a violation of the human rights of Hindus, and it is crucial to put an end to the ongoing series of murders.”
The VHP spokesperson also questioned international human rights organizations, stating, “We hope that these organizations will at least fulfill their responsibilities and show courage in speaking out about the human rights of Hindus. Their silence thus far is unfortunate. The events occurring in Bangladesh demonstrate the significant cultural shift that has taken place. This was once a Bangladesh where chants of ‘Jai Maa Kali’ echoed. Now, it is dominated by jihadist fervor. This situation must change.”
