China-India BRICS Financial Dialogue Held in Mumbai

Mumbai, August 24: On August 21, the Chinese Consulate in Mumbai hosted the China-India BRICS Financial Dialogue. The event featured prominent figures including Chinese Consul General Qin Qiye, Anand Shah, the regional head of ICICI Bank in Mumbai, and representatives from the Bank of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), and China Petroleum India.

During the event, Qin Qiye emphasized that BRICS serves as a crucial platform for enhancing cooperation among countries in the Global South. He noted that the upcoming BRICS summit in India presents a significant opportunity to strengthen financial collaboration between China and India. Qin highlighted that ICICI Bank, one of India’s leading commercial banks, can leverage its expertise to further deepen cooperation between the two nations.

An official from ICICI Bank shared insights on various topics, including the bank’s operations, China-India financial cooperation, the Indian economy, and the global economic landscape. Additionally, extensive discussions were held with Chinese representatives on issues such as digital currencies, cross-border payments, collaboration in financial products, and innovation within the BRICS framework.
