Bijapur, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : Security forces in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, have achieved a significant victory against Maoist insurgents as part of ongoing anti-Naxal operations. During a series of intensive searches, they uncovered a substantial amount of explosives in various locations.
Superintendent of Police Umesh Prasad Gupta reported that the operation led to the recovery of a large quantity of explosive materials, components for barrel grenade launchers (BGL), and other suspicious items. Notably, on Thursday, action was taken in the Tadpal area.
In the Tadpal hills, the 196th Battalion of the CRPF conducted a thorough search, discovering 105 BGL round components, one BGL nozzle, two iron pipes, one aluminum cooking pot, and a lathe machine handle hidden beneath rocks and soil. The security forces seized these materials and initiated further actions.
Additionally, on September 5, a joint team from the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Miratur police conducted a search in the forests of Indripal. They recovered two grenades and five arrow bombs from a Maoist dump. Following safety protocols, the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) safely destroyed the explosives on-site.
On September 6, another operation by the DRG and Miratur police in the Dumripalanar forest resulted in the recovery of seven bundles of non-electric wire and six detonators. These ongoing efforts by security forces have successfully retrieved explosives hidden by Maoist organizations in the forests.
Authorities continue to conduct searches and anti-Naxal operations in sensitive and Maoist-affected areas of the district. The aim of these operations is to effectively curb Maoist activities and enhance security in rural regions.
