Ten Children Escape from Bihar Shelter, Authorities Launch Investigation

Patna, May 12: A serious incident has emerged in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district, where approximately ten children mysteriously escaped from a shelter home located in Narouli, under the Mushari police jurisdiction, early Monday at around 1 AM.

This incident has caused panic among the district administration and police department. Upon receiving the report, Sub-Divisional Officer (East) Tushar Kumar, along with local administrative officials and police personnel, arrived at the scene to initiate an investigation.

During an inspection of the shelter home, the SDO discovered that ten children were missing. Preliminary information suggests that despite security measures, the children managed to escape late at night, either by scaling the walls or through some unknown route.

As of now, there has been no trace of the missing children, raising serious concerns about the operational safety and security protocols of the shelter. Authorities from the Mushari police station and district administration are currently stationed at the site.

Interviews are being conducted with other children and staff at the shelter to determine how the escape occurred. The superintendent of the shelter has filed a formal complaint at the local police station.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kantesh Kumar Mishra confirmed the incident, stating that special police teams have been formed to locate the missing children. A thorough examination of CCTV footage from nearby areas is also underway.

He assured that efforts are ongoing to find all children as quickly as possible. The simultaneous disappearance of ten children from a government shelter is being viewed as a significant security lapse.

This incident has sparked concern and outrage among local residents. Officials are also investigating whether the escape was due to negligence on the part of the shelter management or if there was involvement from an external group.

Currently, the top priority for the police is to locate the missing children as soon as possible.
