Tejashwi Yadav Criticizes Bihar Governments Handling of Floods and Corruption

Patna, September 15 (Daily Kiran) : Tejashwi Yadav, the national executive president of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and leader of the opposition in the Bihar Assembly, launched a scathing attack on the NDA government in Bihar and at the Centre on Tuesday. He accused the current administration of fostering corruption and crime instead of addressing the pressing issues facing the state.

In a conversation with the media, Yadav reiterated his long-held belief that the government is not focused on solving Bihar’s problems. He claimed that its true agenda is to promote corruption, exacerbate crime, and deplete the state’s treasury.

Yadav highlighted the distress faced by every section of society in Bihar, pointing to rising inflation and unemployment as critical concerns. He criticized the deteriorating state of education and healthcare, stating that even basic treatments in government hospitals are inadequate. According to him, the government is engaged in plundering whatever resources remain.

Addressing the ongoing flood crisis, Yadav questioned Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and the central government’s response. He noted the extensive damage caused by flooding and insisted that the Chief Minister should have sought a special relief package from the Prime Minister.

He raised concerns over the need for a central team to assess the damage, arguing that the state government should already be aware of the extent of the losses. Yadav called for immediate special assistance for Bihar, emphasizing that the state is not receiving the necessary support despite having a coalition government at both the Centre and in the state.

Yadav demanded that the floods be declared a national disaster, criticizing the lack of a clear vision or roadmap from the government to advance Bihar. He accused the administration of being limited to announcements and photo opportunities.

Furthermore, he noted that citizens are compelled to repeatedly write to the government to assert their rights and seek assistance. He targeted the Janata Dal (United), stating, “Whatever the BJP desires, that will happen in the JD(U), and that is what Sanjay Jha orchestrates.” He alleged that Jha has led JD(U) to ruin, with decisions now being made according to BJP’s wishes.

On the issue of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Yadav reiterated RJD’s opposition and vowed to continue advocating for the rights of the people and Bihar’s interests.
