Bhopal, September 15 (Daily Kiran) : Congress leader Jitu Patwari has launched a strong critique against both state and central governments regarding the escalating inflation impacting various sectors in Madhya Pradesh. He emphasized that the rising costs have severely affected the poor, middle class, and farmers, exposing the Bharatiya Janata Party’s claims of development as false.
Patwari stated that the household budget for average families has been severely disrupted, with citizens from rural to urban areas suffering under this mismanagement. He noted that the country’s retail inflation rate has surged to 4.82 percent, a sevenfold increase since last November.
Comparing inflation rates between urban and rural areas, Patwari pointed out that inflation is higher in villages. The retail inflation rate in rural regions has been recorded at 5.23 percent. He highlighted the soaring prices of essential kitchen items over the past year, including onions, which have risen by 48.27 percent, garlic by 43.60 percent, ginger by 73.82 percent, and sugar by 29.05 percent. Wholesale inflation has also seen a significant rise.
He further stated that food inflation has reached its highest level in 47 months, with wholesale inflation climbing to 9.92 percent. Patwari accused the BJP of neglecting innocent citizens while focusing on building their own offices and engaging in extortion under their governance.
