Jaipur, September 15 (Daily Kiran) : Rajasthan’s Chief Minister, Bhajanlal Sharma, hailed the Kishau multi-purpose dam project as a historic step towards strengthening water security. He emphasized that long-pending projects are now progressing thanks to a coordinated effort between the states and the central government.

During a signing ceremony in New Delhi, an agreement for the Kishau project was formalized under the leadership of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah. The event saw participation from the Union Minister of Jal Shakti, C.R. Patil, along with Chief Ministers from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Delhi.

Sharma expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Minister Shah for their political leadership, which facilitated this agreement among six states. He described the collaboration as a vital example of cooperative federalism and mutual coordination.

The Chief Minister highlighted that under Modi’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas, Sabka Vishwas,” improved coordination among states is making it possible to resolve long-standing major projects. He noted that Rajasthan has benefited from several key initiatives related to water, including the Yamuna water agreement, the Ramjal Setu link project, the Narmada water agreement, and the Kishau multi-purpose dam project.

Sharma characterized these agreements as significant milestones in enhancing Rajasthan’s long-term water security. He stated that the Kishau project will ensure sufficient water availability for drinking, irrigation, and other needs across the participating states. This enhanced water supply will create a strong foundation for continuous development in the areas affected by the project.
