Teen Murder in Ghaziabad Sparks Outrage and Calls for Justice

Ghaziabad, May 30: A tragic incident unfolded in Ghaziabad’s Khoda Colony, where a 17-year-old boy was fatally stabbed by a friend following an argument. The victim, identified as Surya Chauhan, succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at a local hospital. His mother and sister are demanding strict action against the accused.

The incident occurred on Thursday, and Surya passed away on Friday due to his injuries. He was a student in the 11th grade at a private school in Khoda. Following a complaint lodged by Surya’s elder brother, Yash, an FIR was registered at the Khoda police station.

Ghaziabad police have arrested three of the four named suspects in the FIR. The arrested individuals have been identified as Farhan, Asif, and Nawab. Farhan is the father of the main accused, Asad, who remains at large. Police teams are conducting raids in various locations to apprehend Asad.

Expressing her grief, Surya’s mother, Saroj, stated, “I want him to be punished in the same way he killed my son. I have not seen my son’s face since May 28. I have two sons and a daughter, but my elder son is disabled. I hoped my younger son would support me, but now he has been taken from us.”

Surya’s sister recounted receiving a call around 3:30 AM on Friday, informing her that her brother had been stabbed and that they needed to rush to the hospital. She was at her in-laws’ house at the time and could not see her brother before his death.

She accused Asad of the murder, explaining, “Asad stabbed my brother. They had a minor argument about eight months ago, but we never imagined he would do something like this.” She revealed that Asad had invited Surya to meet him during Eid celebrations, which they thought was a casual visit. However, Asad was not alone; he was accompanied by seven or eight others.

“Our father is no longer with us, and now we have lost our brother. We have no one left,” she lamented. She demanded justice, insisting that the accused should face the same fate as her brother. Asad is still on the run, and the family wants him captured as soon as possible.

A local resident voiced the community’s demand for justice, stating, “We want the victim’s family to receive justice, and the killers should face an encounter. Their homes should be demolished.” Another resident mentioned that videos, including CCTV footage from the area, have either been deleted or removed, as the locality is predominantly Muslim, and residents have refused to share the recordings.

BJP leader Reena Bhati commented, “We have never encountered such behavior in the Khoda Municipal Council before. The Muslim community should also support us.”
