Supreme Court to Hear CBI Investigation Plea in Bhojpur Encounter Case on June 30

New Delhi, June 29: The Supreme Court will hear a public interest petition regarding the Bhojpur encounter case involving Bharat Bhushan Tiwari on June 30. The hearing will be conducted by a bench comprising Justice M. M. Sundresh and Justice Shil Nagoo.

Advocate Vishal Tiwari has filed the petition, requesting a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the case. The petition argues that for a fair investigation, the case should be handed over to the central agency.

Additionally, the petition calls for the establishment of an independent expert committee under the supervision of a retired Supreme Court judge.

The petitioner has also requested that First Information Reports (FIRs) be filed against the police officers involved in the encounter, ensuring that the entire investigation is conducted transparently.

The petition alleges that Bharat Bhushan Tiwari’s death constitutes a “murder case,” necessitating an impartial and independent investigation.

It is noteworthy that several days after the incident, the post-mortem report of the deceased Bharat Tiwari was released, confirming that he sustained five gunshot wounds.

According to the post-mortem report, the first bullet entered the upper front part of the left thigh. The second bullet was found lodged in the inner part of the middle section of the left thigh. The third bullet penetrated the middle section of the right thigh from the inside.

The report also indicates that the fourth bullet entered the right thigh from the outer side, while the fifth bullet struck the middle part of the left leg from the back.

Political tensions have escalated regarding the alleged fake encounter case of Bharat Tiwari. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has made it clear that those responsible for this incident will not be spared. An immediate judicial commission has been formed to investigate the matter.
