New Delhi, September 11 (Daily Kiran) : Vinod Jhakar, the National President of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), recently addressed the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections. He voiced concerns about the lack of new hostel construction over the past decade, calling it a significant issue for the university, which is the largest and most prestigious educational institution in the country. Students from all corners of India come to study here, and Jhakar insists that access to hostels is their right. He stated, “Quality education, good food, and proper living conditions are rights that students at Delhi University deserve.”
Jhakar also expressed his sorrow over the tragic incident at Saty Niketan, where students lost their lives due to debris. He criticized the university’s Vice Chancellor for not responding to this tragedy.
Congress leader Pawan Khera, speaking on Friday, mentioned the party’s commitment to implementing their promises across various departments. He emphasized the focus on social justice during elections and expressed confidence that the people of Uttarakhand are ready for a change in government.
Regarding the BRICS summit, Khera noted that discussions would be more appropriate after the event concludes, as world leaders gather in New Delhi. He raised concerns about the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) support for the government’s economic data, suggesting that their approval is often treated as validation.
Election activities are intensifying in Uttarakhand, with BJP President Nitin Naveen visiting the state. Kumari Sailaja remarked that their party has been preparing for the elections from the start. She criticized the BJP for disrespecting the culture of Uttarakhand, asserting that voters will hold them accountable.
Sailaja accused the BJP and RSS of dividing people based on religion and caste, claiming that this tactic will not succeed in the long run.
