Mumbai, June 16: Renowned Bollywood singer Sona Mohapatra is celebrating her 50th birthday today. Born on June 17, 1976, Sona has carved a unique niche in the industry with her powerful voice, independent thinking, and candid personality. Throughout her career, she has delivered numerous memorable songs, earning a distinguished place in the music world.

Sona’s connection to music began in her childhood. However, she also achieved remarkable success in her academic pursuits. After earning a B.Tech in Instrumentation and Electronics from the College of Engineering and Technology in Bhubaneswar, she obtained an MBA from Symbiosis in Pune. She even worked in the corporate sector, managing major brands like Parachute and Medicure while associated with Marico.

Yet, her passion for music ultimately drew her into the world of melodies. Starting her musical journey with jingles, Sona released her debut album ‘Sona’ in 2007, which received a positive response from listeners.
