Kapurthala, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : In a startling turn of events in Kapurthala, Punjab, a young man presumed dead was found alive in jail, 15 days after his family held his funeral. The family had believed their son, Ravi Kumar, was dead after a body was discovered and identified under tragic circumstances.

Ravi, 24, went missing on August 5. His family searched for him but found no leads. After exhausting their options, they reported him missing at the Kapurthala City police station on August 11. Shortly after, police informed them about an unidentified body found near a training center on Kanjali Road. The condition of the body was so severe that the family believed it to be Ravi’s. They claimed the body and conducted his last rites on August 13, offering prayers for his soul on August 15.

The situation took a dramatic turn on September 2 when a staff member from the central jail in Kapurthala contacted the family, revealing that a man named Ravi Kumar was incarcerated there. He had been arrested by Jalandhar police about a month prior on charges of vagrancy. Initially shocked, the family rushed to the jail the next day, where their joy knew no bounds upon seeing Ravi alive.
