New Delhi, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : BJP MP Ghulam Ali Khatana addressed recent comments by Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech at the Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) in Delhi. He also tackled issues surrounding the Haldwani ‘purification’ controversy, the Saharanpur mosque incident, and the SIR process, criticizing the opposition for their stance.
Khatana asserted that the BJP’s primary focus is the nation, followed by the party and then individuals. He emphasized that the BJP, as the world’s largest party, operates on a cadre-based structure that prioritizes national interests. “Those who cannot determine whether the nation comes first or the party cannot critique Prime Minister Modi,” he stated. He further noted that the BJP does not engage in politics aimed at appeasing or intimidating specific groups but treats all citizens equally.
In response to a Congress complaint against Uttarakhand BJP President Mahendra Bhatt, Khatana questioned the history of the Congress party. He highlighted the political issues related to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and the Dalit community, accusing Congress of exploiting Dalits as a vote bank for decades. He claimed that under Modi’s leadership, opportunities have been created for Dalits, tribals, backward classes, minorities, and others. The BJP does not support any ideology that fosters discrimination within society.
Khatana condemned the controversial incidents mentioned, asserting that the BJP’s senior leadership had already denounced them. He described the Congress complaint against Bhatt as an act of political revenge, alleging that the opposition was politicizing the issue to secure Dalit votes.
Regarding Asaduddin Owaisi’s remarks on the demolition of a mosque in Saharanpur, Khatana stated that he had not directly heard Owaisi’s comments and learned about them through media reports. He advised that if the mosque’s documentation or legal status was unclear, the matter should not be politicized.
On the topic of the SIR process, Khatana remarked that decisions related to electoral matters should adhere to legal frameworks and established regulations. He suggested that the opposition should consider the facts and legal context before questioning the electoral process. The BJP’s political foundation rests on providing equal rights and opportunities to all citizens, and the party does not view any community through a biased lens.
