Shocking Incident in Maharashtra: 15-Year-Old Girl Abused by Relatives

Mumbai, May 27: A deeply troubling incident in Beed, Maharashtra, has sent shockwaves through the district. A 15-year-old girl, who should have felt safe at home, has become a victim of horrific abuse by her own relatives.

According to reports, the girl was allegedly assaulted by her cousin and grandfather. The victim stated that while tending to goats in the fields, her cousin repeatedly forced himself on her. Additionally, when they were alone at home, her grandfather also exploited her.

What is particularly alarming is that the accused threatened the girl with death to keep her silent for an extended period. During this time, she endured fear, mental torment, and pain in her own home. It was only when her physical suffering became unbearable that she confided in a doctor, leading to the revelation of this heart-wrenching case.

This incident raises significant questions about women’s safety. If daughters are not safe in their own homes, what does that say about society? The Neknur police in Beed have registered a case and arrested both accused individuals. The victim has been sent to a shelter home for her protection.

In a similar vein, another shocking case emerged from Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, where a 15-year-old girl was raped by a government employee from the health department. The accused, identified as Munna Tamasi, lured the girl to his home under false pretenses and assaulted her. The victim managed to return home but remained silent out of fear until she eventually disclosed her ordeal to her older sister the following morning.

This series of incidents highlights the urgent need for improved safety measures for women and children in India.
