New Delhi, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : Rainfall continues across Delhi-NCR, bringing much-needed relief to the region’s air quality. As a result, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in many parts of the capital, including Noida and Ghaziabad, has fallen into the green zone.
On Saturday, areas in Delhi-NCR experienced ongoing rain. Local weather reports suggest that overcast skies will persist, with moderate rain expected throughout the day. Temperatures are predicted to reach a high of 30 degrees Celsius and a low of 25 degrees Celsius. There is also a chance of thunderstorms and lightning, accompanied by light to moderate rain at various times from morning to evening.
The weather department forecasts that clouds will continue to dominate the skies on September 6, although rainfall intensity is expected to decrease. Light rain or drizzles may occur, with maximum temperatures around 32 degrees and minimums dropping to 23 degrees Celsius. No weather warnings have been issued for this day.
A gradual shift in weather conditions is anticipated on September 7, with partial cloud cover expected. The maximum temperature could rise to 34 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 24 degrees. Similar conditions are expected on September 8, with temperatures remaining around 34 degrees for the maximum and 25 degrees for the minimum. Humidity levels may vary between 50 and 80 percent. The recent rains have notably improved air quality in several areas of Delhi.
Data indicates that Anand Vihar recorded an AQI of 77, Ashok Vihar at 104, Ayanagar at 44, and Bawana at 49. The lowest AQI was noted at CRRI Mathura Road, with a reading of 38.
In Noida, air quality remains satisfactory across all four active monitoring stations. Sector-125 recorded an AQI of 50, Sector-62 at 42, Sector-1 at 86, and Sector-116 at 81. Sector-62 showed the best air quality, while Sector-1 had the highest reading. Similarly, Ghaziabad’s monitoring stations reported controlled pollution levels post-rainfall, with Govindpuram at 46, Indirapuram at 39, and Loni at 52. The lowest AQI in Ghaziabad was again at Indirapuram and Sanjay Nagar, both at 39.
Looking ahead, the weather department predicts continued cloud cover in the coming days. Saturday may see varying intensities of rain, while a decrease in rainfall is expected after Sunday, with partial cloud cover anticipated on September 7 and 8.
