Shocking Arrest of Delhi University Student in Drug Trafficking Case

New Delhi, June 9: A shocking incident has emerged from Delhi University, where the North-West District Police’s Anti-Narcotics Squad arrested a student on charges of trafficking hydroponic cannabis. Approximately ₹20 lakh worth of the banned substance was seized from the accused.

According to police reports, they received information about a young man selling hydroponic cannabis in the Vijay Nagar Double Story area. Acting on this tip-off, a special team was formed, leading to the arrest of 22-year-old Jasim Syadul Farsan.

During the search, police recovered 195 grams of hydroponic cannabis, valued at around ₹20 lakh in the international market.

Investigations revealed that the accused is a final-year BA student (eighth semester) at Satyawati College, Delhi University. During questioning, he admitted that he was lured into this illegal trade by the prospect of quick money.

The police stated that the accused was not only involved in this business himself but was also supplying drugs to other college students. He provided drugs to customers based on demand.

DCP North-West Akanksha Yadav noted that hydroponic cannabis is a high-quality banned substance with significant market demand.

A case has been registered against the accused under Section 20 of the NDPS Act at the Model Town police station. The police are now investigating his supply network, sources, and other individuals involved in this illegal operation. Authorities have stated that strict action will be taken against those involved in such incidents.

Delhi police have emphasized that their campaign against traffickers pushing youth into drug addiction will continue. The accused remains in police custody as further investigations proceed.
