Mumbai, June 6: Actor Shekhar Suman has sharply criticized individuals who have fled India. During the promotion of the newly released web series “The Pyramid Scheme,” he remarked that these people often charm others with sweet talk before absconding with millions from banks.
In a recent interview, Suman stated, “The biggest trait of a con artist is their allure. Everyone gets drawn in by their charm. They speak sweetly and are quick-witted. These individuals are highly intelligent, but their energy is misdirected.”
He added with sarcasm, “You put them in jail, they come out, and then they start anew. They never stop.” Suman provided real-life examples, noting that many individuals have left India after taking substantial amounts of money from banks, now living comfortably abroad. “Look at them, listen to their stories. They used to fly planes and play cricket. If you hear them all, your character is right before you.”
Currently, Suman is portraying a con artist in the streaming show “The Pyramid Scheme.” He mentioned that creating allure for the character was the most challenging aspect of the role.
“The Pyramid Scheme” is an intriguing web series based on the world of pyramid schemes. Alongside Shekhar Suman, the cast includes Ranveer Shourie, Shreyansh Pandey, Paramveer Cheema, Anjan Srivastava, Alfiya Jafri, Ashish Raghav, Akhilendra Mishra, Smita Bansal, and others in key roles.
The series is produced by The Viral Fever, with Shreyansh Pandey as the creator and Ashish R. Shukla and Shreyansh Pandey as directors. It is available for streaming on Prime Video.
