Severe Heatwave Grips Noida as Temperatures Soar Above 32 Degrees

Noida, May 21: The intense heat in the National Capital Region (NCR) is making life difficult for residents. The sweltering conditions persist even at night, with no relief from hot winds and humidity. According to the latest report from the meteorological department, the heatwave is expected to continue for the next six days in the NCR.

The maximum temperature has consistently hovered around 45 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is recorded between 30 to 32 degrees Celsius. The lack of cooling at night is causing significant discomfort for the public.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts a maximum temperature of 45 degrees and a minimum of 32 degrees Celsius for today. A heatwave warning has been issued for the afternoon and evening, with a “warm night” expected later.

No relief is anticipated on May 22, with the maximum temperature again projected at 45 degrees and a minimum of 31 degrees Celsius. The meteorological department has warned of heat conditions accompanied by strong winds during the afternoon and evening.

On May 23, temperatures are expected to remain around 45 degrees, with a minimum of 31 degrees. The scorching heat will persist on May 24 as well, with maximum temperatures again reaching 45 degrees and a minimum of 31 degrees Celsius.

The meteorological department indicates that strong surface winds will continue during the afternoons and evenings, maintaining the heatwave conditions. On May 25 and 26, maximum temperatures are expected to remain around 45 degrees, with minimum temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius.

In light of the ongoing extreme heat, the health department has entered alert mode. Hospitals have been instructed to prepare additional beds, establish separate wards for heatstroke patients, and provide specialized medical facilities.

Health experts advise people to stay indoors from noon to 4 PM. They also recommend drinking plenty of water, wearing light clothing, and covering the head when going out in the sun.

The meteorological department has made it clear that the chances of relief from the heat in the NCR over the coming days are extremely low. The rising temperatures, both day and night, are exacerbating the difficulties faced by residents, and conditions may worsen in the days ahead.
