SBI Advises Customers to Utilize Digital Banking Ahead of Upcoming Strike

New Delhi, May 23: The State Bank of India (SBI), the largest public sector bank in India, has issued a notice urging customers to use digital banking services and alternative channels ahead of a two-day strike planned by the All India State Bank of India Staff Federation on May 25 and 26.

In a post on the social media platform X, the bank informed customers that while efforts will be made to maintain essential banking services during the strike, disruptions may occur in some branch-level operations.

SBI’s advisory emphasized that the All India State Bank of India Staff Federation (AISBISF) has announced a two-day strike on May 25 and 26, 2026.

Customers are encouraged to utilize ATMs and Automated Deposit and Withdrawal Machines (ADWMs) for cash-related needs during the protest. The bank also recommended relying on Customer Service Points (CSPs), internet banking, YONO, mobile banking, UPI, and other digital channels for daily banking transactions.

Furthermore, while SBI aims to provide essential services in branches, customers are advised to prioritize using ATMs/ADWMs, CSPs, and digital banking options. The bank assured that its digital banking system, including online transactions and UPI services, will continue to function normally throughout the strike period.

SBI expressed regret for any inconvenience caused to customers due to the planned strike and thanked them for their understanding.

This advisory comes amid concerns that widespread participation in the strike could impact personal banking services at various branches. Customers visiting branches for cash deposits, withdrawals, passbook updates, and other offline transactions may experience delays or disruptions over the two-day period.
