New Delhi, May 23: The Cyber Cell of the Delhi Police has uncovered a significant cyber fraud racket, arresting two individuals who created fake female profiles on social media to defraud people across the country under the guise of ‘spiritual healing.’
According to the police, the arrested suspects targeted emotionally vulnerable individuals by establishing fraudulent accounts on Instagram and Facebook. This gang operated under the name ‘All Problem Solutions,’ collecting money from victims in the name of rituals, tantra practices, and spiritual remedies.
Investigations revealed that over 2,000 people were connected to the suspects’ fake accounts nationwide. One complainant reported being emotionally manipulated into losing ₹2.51 lakh under the pretense of solving personal issues.
The police team tracked down the suspects using technical investigations, IP address tracing, and digital footprints, leading to their arrest in Kharar, Mohali, Punjab. Both suspects were managing the entire network from a flat.
The accused created fake female profiles using names such as ‘Zainab Khan,’ ‘Muskan Khan,’ ‘Kavita Chaudhary,’ and ‘Zara Khan.’ They commented on posts related to people’s problems on social media, presenting themselves as spiritual healers.
Victims were then connected via WhatsApp, where they were systematically charged for rituals, tantra practices, and other religious solutions.
The arrested individuals have been identified as 21-year-old Ganesh and 21-year-old Mandeep Singh from Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan. Their educational backgrounds have also come to light; one is pursuing a BA while the other is an ITI diesel mechanic.
The police recovered five smartphones, fake social media accounts, chats, QR codes, and other digital evidence from the suspects. These devices contained crucial data related to the fraud.
Authorities stated that the investigation is ongoing, with efforts to identify other individuals connected to this network and additional victims. They are also tracing the total amount defrauded and the entire money trail.
The Delhi Police has warned the public to be cautious of such fraudulent spiritual claims on social media, as these gangs exploit emotional vulnerabilities to target individuals.
