Samajwadi Party Hits Back at Keshav Mauryas Comments Amid Election Speculations

Lucknow, June 18: Leaders from the Samajwadi Party (SP) have retaliated against remarks made by Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya. They claim that Maurya lacks respect within his own party and government. Shivpal Singh Yadav, the national general secretary of the SP, stated that Maurya is struggling to secure wins in elections, leading him to make provocative statements.

Yadav remarked, “You are talking about Keshav Prasad Maurya, who is a Deputy Chief Minister. He is unable to form winning equations. The Samajwadi Party has defeated him in several elections. Therefore, when he makes such statements, it shows that these people are lying.”

He further emphasized that if Maurya cannot win his own seat, he will achieve nothing. Yadav added, “There has been a massive theft at the Ram temple. If they cannot leave Lord Ram alone, who else could be more irreverent? They are all irreverent.”

SP MP Avadhesh Prasad echoed these sentiments, stating, “Keshav Prasad Maurya lacks respect in the party and government he belongs to. The people in the areas where elections have taken place have lost faith in him. Elections are likely to occur in the next five to six months, possibly in November or December. Some individuals are scared and worried about what they will do in the coming days. The statements they are making are a result of that fear.”

Additionally, SP MP Rajiv Rai also responded to Maurya’s comments. He noted, “They were making a big fuss, hoping that the cabinet reshuffle would grant them a decent ministry. Do we ever hear discussions about the work of both ministers (Keshav Prasad Maurya and OP Rajbhar)? One is a seasonal minister, and the other is a stool minister, who is speaking out of confusion and panic. The seasonal minister thinks they might secure a seat and have their children contest elections. Maurya fears that his stool might be pulled away. We should feel pity for such individuals and have sympathy for them.”

Earlier, Keshav Prasad Maurya had targeted the Samajwadi Party during an event, stating, “After the lotus blooms in Bihar and West Bengal, the situation for the Saifai folks (Akhilesh Yadav’s family) is dire. I can predict that in 2027, the Samajwadi Party will face a terrible fate.”
