Shimla, August 31: Rajeev Bindal, the President of the BJP in Himachal Pradesh, announced on Monday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will complete 25 years of public service as Chief Minister and Prime Minister on October 7. To commemorate this milestone, citizens are encouraged to light a ‘Seva Ka Diya’ in their homes on September 17, symbolizing their commitment to public service.
Bindal emphasized that throughout these years, PM Modi has prioritized service in his public life, working for every segment of society. This nationwide initiative will kick off on PM Modi’s birthday, September 17, and will continue until October 17. The aim is to inspire citizens to dedicate themselves to service and contribute to the vision of a ‘Developed India’ by 2047.
On September 17, people will be encouraged to light ‘Seva Ka Diya’ in their homes, representing their commitment to public service and the goal of a developed India by 2047. Under the leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, blood donation camps will also be organized across the state. The party aims to promote blood donation according to the needs and capacities of blood banks statewide.
Bindal announced that painting and speech competitions for children will be held on themes such as “My India – How it was, How it is, and How we envision it in 2047.” Programs focusing on the changes over the past 25 years and the vision for a developed India will also be organized.
Under the theme ‘My Contribution to Service,’ BJP workers and citizens will participate in cleanliness drives, blood donation camps, medical service activities, and services at orphanages and old age homes, along with water conservation, tree plantation campaigns, and various other social initiatives.
Women will also organize ‘Rangoli’ programs based on PM Modi’s life, his commitment to service, and the vision for a developed India by 2047.
In a sharp attack on the state’s Congress government, Bindal stated that the BJP had announced in July that it would launch a public movement on local issues throughout August. He mentioned that the party organized protests at 121 locations across the state in August, addressing issues like poor roads, stalled development projects, unfulfilled Congress promises, and other local problems. Additionally, 17 district-level demonstrations were held to highlight the issues faced by unemployed youth and to question the government regarding employment promises made before the assembly elections.
Bindal declared that the BJP would intensify its campaign in September by organizing public movements at 170 locations on local issues. The party will also conduct 17 protests at the district level, focusing on women’s issues and the promises made by Congress.
He accused the Congress party of coming to power based on false promises, claiming that they misled youth, women, and other sections of society with grand dreams, yet failed to fulfill their commitments after assuming office. Bindal pointed out that despite significant promises regarding government jobs before coming to power, educated unemployed youth are still waiting for jobs nearly four years later. He claimed that there are 107,000 vacant positions in the government and accused the government of failing to deliver on promises of stable and pensioned government jobs.
