Salman Khan Seeks Court Intervention to Halt Kala Hiran Film Release

New Delhi, June 12: Actor Salman Khan has approached the Delhi High Court, seeking to stop the release of the film ‘Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy.’ He has filed a petition for both permanent and interim injunctions to prevent the film’s production, promotion, and distribution.

In his petition, Khan has included Amit Jani, Jani Firefox Films, Bharat Shrinath, Akshay Pandey, and other relevant parties, as well as unknown individuals. He requests the court to restrain all these parties from engaging in any activities related to the film’s production, financing, direction, and promotion.

The actor alleges that the film’s poster and promotional content violate his personality rights. He claims that his name, image, and public identity are being used for commercial gain without his permission, which he argues is legally improper.

The film is reportedly based on the infamous 1998 blackbuck poaching case and its associated events. It is produced under the banner of Jani Firefox Films and directed by Bharat S. Shrinath. Recently, the film’s first look was released, showcasing a narrative tied to crime and justice.

Khan’s legal team had previously sent a notice to the filmmakers, stating that the film could impact his personal rights and image. The notice also mentioned that the matter is currently pending in the Rajasthan High Court, making the film’s production and promotion a legally sensitive issue.

In response to the controversy, producer Amit Jani stated that he has faced threats and pressure on social media following the notice. He alleged that he received thousands of messages and phone calls. Jani emphasized that if Salman Khan wishes to fight legally, it should be done in court rather than through intimidation. He also claimed that the film is based on the struggles of the Bishnoi community and the events of 1998.
