Mumbai, July 23: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan’s son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, is making headlines not for his film career but for addressing a pressing social issue. He has expressed concern regarding the protests by the Cockroach People’s Party (CJP) and the student demonstrations surrounding it. Through social media, Ibrahim extended his sympathies to the students and their families affected by the unrest.
Ibrahim shared an image of the Indian flag on his social media account, stating, “It is deeply saddening to see students and their families caught in such turmoil. No one should face fear or uncertainty just for continuing their education or for protesting peacefully and legally. We may have differing opinions, but I hope everyone remains safe, that all voices are heard peacefully, and that this situation is resolved without further harm. I wish strength to all affected during this challenging time and hope for a positive path ahead. Jai Hind.”
In addition to Ibrahim, several other artists from the film industry have also reacted to this issue. Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty shared his thoughts on social media regarding the protests at Jantar Mantar. He noted that he previously thought such protests in other countries were unrelated to India, but now the images emerging from his own country appear equally serious.
In his Instagram post, Resul wrote, “When the ICE protests occurred in Minnesota, we thought that was not our problem. But now look at Jantar Mantar in our own country. The images there look strikingly similar. My dear Gen Z, you have turned silence into courage and courage into hope. Your protest is like a beating poem.”
Tamil actress Dushara Vijayan also voiced her support for the students. On the social media platform X, she expressed her distress at seeing students standing on the streets. “Behind every poster is a student who has worked day and night to fulfill their dreams, and it is heartbreaking to see these young individuals facing fear and violence,” she wrote.
Dushara added, “Regardless of our political views, we should not create a society that stops listening to its students. Their voices are not a threat; they signify that hope is still alive. I wish for the safety and dignity of all students. My heart is with them.”
Many Bollywood stars, including Alia Bhatt, Salman Khan, and Sonakshi Sinha, have also come forward to support the students.
