Sachin Pilot Meets Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi Following Punjab Appointment

Jaipur, September 8 (Daily Kiran) : Congress leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Sachin Pilot, met with Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in New Delhi on Tuesday. This meeting took place shortly after he was appointed as the party’s in-charge for Punjab.

Pilot shared a photo from the meeting, expressing gratitude for the responsibility entrusted to him regarding Punjab. He stated his confidence that with collective efforts, a strong organization, and the enthusiasm of party workers, Congress would regain power in Punjab. His commitment is focused on building a better future for the state and safeguarding the rights of all sections of society, including farmers and youth.

Both Rahul and Priyanka congratulated Pilot on his new role during their meeting at 10 Janpath. According to party sources, the discussion also touched on the political and organizational challenges Congress faces in Punjab and preparations for the 2027 assembly elections.

Pilot’s appointment comes at a crucial time for the Punjab Congress, which is striving to strengthen its organization and reclaim lost political ground. The immediate challenge is to unite various factions within the party and improve coordination among senior leaders, legislators, and grassroots workers.

Sources revealed that the meeting included initial discussions on Congress’s roadmap for Punjab, organizational activities, and strategies for the upcoming elections, although no official details were released regarding the closed-door talks.

Pilot is expected to visit Chandigarh soon, where he will meet with senior leaders, legislators, and party workers to assess the organizational situation and devise a forward strategy. His new responsibilities in Punjab mark a significant expansion of his organizational role beyond Rajasthan.

As the 2027 Punjab assembly elections approach, all eyes will be on Pilot’s ability to unify the state party unit and formulate effective strategies. A successful tenure in Punjab could strengthen his position within Congress at the national level, though the primary challenge remains translating the high command’s trust into grassroots organizational momentum.
