Patna, June 24: Rohini Acharya, daughter of RJD chief Lalu Yadav, has raised concerns regarding the Bihar government’s judicial inquiry into the alleged fake encounter of Bharat Tiwari. She labeled the inquiry as an attempt to “cool public outrage.” Acharya emphasized that the failure to release Tiwari’s post-mortem report raises serious questions.
In a post on the social media platform X, Acharya expressed skepticism about the judicial inquiry’s ability to yield quick results. She accused the process of being lengthy, potentially delaying accountability for those responsible for this “heinous murder.” In her view, the government’s order for a judicial inquiry is merely a tactic to pacify public anger.
Having contested the last Lok Sabha elections from Saran on an RJD ticket, Acharya stated that many individuals are fighting on the ground for justice for Tiwari’s family, who lost their lives advocating for the rights of Dalits, marginalized communities, and the oppressed. However, she criticized the government for not addressing fundamental questions.
She questioned the whereabouts of Bharat Tiwari’s post-mortem report and why it has not been made public. Acharya alleged that the delay in releasing the report suggests that the government and police may be trying to protect someone.
Several petitions related to this case are pending in various courts, and Acharya noted that the post-mortem report is a crucial document for the legal strength of these petitions. The lack of transparency surrounding the report deepens suspicions. Additionally, Tiwari’s family is demanding the release of details from the deceased’s mobile phone, which is currently in police custody. They believe it may contain vital evidence, information, and WhatsApp chats related to the alleged fake encounter.
Acharya accused the police of remaining silent on this issue and raised concerns that the phone’s data and WhatsApp chats might be destroyed to cover up their “dark deeds.”
She urged the government to clarify the status of all essential documents related to the case, including the post-mortem report and mobile data, to ensure that Bharat Tiwari’s family receives justice and the truth of the matter is revealed.
