New Delhi, June 24: The outrage among students regarding paper leak incidents is escalating across the country. A significant number of students have gathered at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Amidst this, a statement from the minister regarding the student protests has sparked a political controversy.
Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), launched a sharp attack on Dharmendra Pradhan, accusing the government of attempting to defame students instead of listening to their concerns.
Kejriwal shared a video of the minister’s statement on social media, expressing his disapproval. He described the characterization of protesting students as “anti-national” as unfortunate and arrogant.
He questioned the appropriateness of labeling students, who are worried about their futures and demanding transparency in the examination system, as traitors.
In his post, he wrote, “So much arrogance? Innocent children protesting against paper leaks want to break the country, and you think you are saving the nation by ruining their futures, Dharmendra Pradhan? Amazing.”
The Aam Aadmi Party has consistently criticized the central government over the paper leak issue. The party claims that repeated incidents of leaks are jeopardizing the futures of millions of students, causing them mental stress and despair.
Party leaders allege that despite ongoing irregularities in the examination system, the government has failed to take effective action. Previously, Kejriwal had also criticized the central government for paper leak incidents in various competitive exams, including NEET. He stated that paper leaks have become a significant organized business, with undeniable involvement from influential individuals.
He pointed out that major paper leak incidents occur every two to three years, and there are continuous irregularities in various central examinations. Meanwhile, students protesting at Jantar Mantar are demanding a fair investigation, strict action against the guilty, and reforms in the examination system. They argue that the recurring paper leaks are affecting both their hard work and future.
